About Amanda

Amanda is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Ohio.  She is passionate about family building, strengthening relationships, perinatal and maternal mental health.  She takes a strength based approach to assist her clients in standing in an empowered position in their lives. She meets you where you are and walks with you, holding space for you and the heaviness that sometimes hits us unexpectedly.

There are all different types of transitions in life.  Some are small and others are permanent changes in the structure of our reality, but all can cause intense feelings of stress and anxiety.  These feelings can greatly impact our relationships, interfere with our work, and compromise our ability to fulfill daily responsibilities.

Amanda has experience working with individuals, couples, and families encountering difficulties through life transitions.  She utilizes her training and expertise to provide tools that can assist you through stressful times.  Amanda believes in the importance of establishing trust through the therapeutic relationship and working collaboratively with you and at your pace.

Amanda's Approach

Vulnerability is scary, difficult, and one of the bravest places we can be.  It is in vulnerability that we truly experience parts of our self that we have closed off because of fear, anxiety, sadness, or grief.  Avoidance is our biggest enemy in the process of healing and feeling whole.  Through an eclectic approach, Amanda utilizes different modalities of treatment all centered around creating a safe environment for vulnerability, while allowing you to set the pace and feel seen as well as heard.

The following are several of the elements Amanda incorporates into sessions:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

  • Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy

  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy

  • Narrative Therapy
